14th International Freight Forwarders & Logistics Cooperation Forum (Chongqing 2012)

Event Date: Wednesday, 28 March 2012 - Friday, 30 March 2012
Venue: Hotel Sofitel Forebase Chongqing, China

The reason for having a conference in Chongqing is because it has become a major manufacturing hub, an automotive and motorcycle hub, and a new Gateway to Europe (With a new train service from Chongqing to Europe with an expected transit time of only 12 days). Chongqing is also China’s largest city with a population of some 32 million people, and therefore is a consumer hub as well.

Some of the companies with operations in Chongqing are: Microsoft, Coca Cola, Mazda, Ford, BP, Lafarge, Honeywell, Fiat, Volvo, Ericsson, Honda, Continental, Denso, Wal Mart, Johnson Control, Visteon, Apple, Pepsi, BASF, Danone, NTT Group.

Chongqing has huge export of motor cycle engines and spare parts to South America and Africa. Therefore we hope that a good number of South American and Africa members will attend. As Chongqing is the world’s major automotive hub, we would  expect freight forwarders handing automotive clients would be interested in attending. Already  many members have indicated they are interested in coming to Chongqing.

CLC Chongqing Event 2012

As you might be aware CLC’s next conference entitled “ The14th International Freight Forwarders & Logistics Cooperation Forum” will be held at Sofitel Forebase Hotel Chongqing, China from Wednesday, 28 March 2012 - Friday, 30 March 2012. We have already received registrations from over 90 CLC members for this conference. We have a limit of only 125 CLC members, but if there are more demand then we will have to change hotel as Sofitel is only able to accommodate 250 people for the one to one meetings in their ball room. Therefore, if you plan to attend this conference please register as soon as possible through this link:

http://www.chinalogisticsclub.com/node/add/conference-registration?product_nid=3631&qty=1

Chongqing is expected to become China’s biggest transportation hub and with the new railway service from Chongqing to Antwerp, it should be interesting to members from Europe who are interested in a new transport route to Europe. Chongqing is also building the 4th runway showing the huge increase in airfreight from Chongqing. Qatar Airways now flies directly to Chongqing and Finnair will start in May 2012.  A new container railway terminal has also been built in Chongqing. Chongqing is also the world’s largest city with some 32 million people so no wonder it has become a major manufacturing hub.

This should be a 'must attend' event for all the CLC members, specially for New CLC members; because along with 125 CLC members another 125 companies will come from Chongqing and Chengdu partners of CLC. The conference will provide for one2one meetings (powered by one2onescheduler.com) the online scheduler will open on 25th Feb 2012. To know more details about the conference, please visit: http://www.chinalogisticsclub.com/content/clcchongqingconference-2012

Some of the major sessions / meetings that will be held during the Chongqing Conference are:

  • Kazakhstan Road / Rail / Air breakout session
  • African motor cycle importers breakout meeting: CLC has made an exclusive agreement with Freight Africa (http://www.freight-africa.com/) who will invite some motor cycle importers from Africa to attend the CLC Chongqing Event 2012 and we will invite some of the many motor cycle factories in Chongqing to meet with them. We will arrange for a special room for ‘Motor cycle industry’ during the event. Chongqing is known as the motor cycle factory of the world.
  • CLC Project members will have their own project meeting the whole day of the 28th March 2012 and join the one2one scheduler meetings on the 29th and 30th.
  • Presentation about Chongqing logistics and the future Chongqing transportation hub by Chongqing Jiaotong University.
